1st ASEAN TEACHERS & STUDENTS SEMINAR OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 10 PADANG

DAY 6 (Saturday, January 12, 2019)

CNSC SEA-Teacher Participants

Early in the morning, we were fetched by our buddies to attend the 1st ASEAN TEACHERS & STUDENTS SEMINAR OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 10 PADANG with the theme “Youth Strategies in Industrial Revolution 4.0: Challenges, Opportunities and How to Survive.”. We went to SMA 10 to witness the opening program. The Governor together with other school officials wholeheartedly welcomed us. They invited us to participate in the conduct of the 1st ASEAN TEACHERS & STUDENTS SEMINAR OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 10 PADANG in Hall of Governor’s Office. We proceeded to the event’s place and signed in our names. My buddy and I sat in the 5th table where students together with their supportive advisers were seated. We exchanged our pleasantries and introductions. After a short while, the speakers started sharing their topics but most of them spoke in Bahasa and I just jotted down important points from their slide presentation.

Generally, Industrial Revolution is a rapid change in an economy marked by general introduction of power-driven machinery. We are living in this era where technological advancements have flourished throughout the world. Bigger opportunities lead to bigger challenges and in this era we need to have the surviving skills in order to live.  I have learned that as an individual living in industrial revolution era, we should possess the 21st century skills.

Communication is one of the most vital skill that will enable us to connect with other people. It is a way of understanding and being understood by others. Second is critical thinking which means you are mentally capable of thinking smartly ahead of a certain situation. An individual whose decisions are based from a logical judgement and critically analysed. Another is creativity which is very hard for people to acquire because of the fact that we humans tend to imitate others. We can’t find our creativeness within ourselves. We should not limit our minds with the fundamentals ideas and with what society normally dictates us to do.  We should always remember that with creativity we are limitless.

Lastly, each one of us should have collaborative skills which make us grow as a human. Working in partnership is a way of linking to the world. It is true that with collaboration we can make impossible things possible.
